we're sorry to hear you're not 100% in love with your order! here's everything you need to know about starting a return or exchange.
a note on recent updates
as amika grows, we want to make sure our returns process grows with us in a way that's clear, fair, and easy to navigate for everyone.
we know change can feel unexpected, and we want to be upfront about what's new and why it matters to you.

our return policy
purchases made directly through loveamika.com are covered by a 30-day return policy, starting the day your order is delivered.
once a return is initiated in our portal and a label has been generated, customers have 5 calendar days to drop off their package. return labels must show a carrier scan by the 5th calendar day to remain eligible for a refund. labels with no scan activity after 5 days will be considered abandoned and voided.
amika is not responsible for return packages lost or delayed in transit. in the event a return shipment cannot be confirmed delivered to our facility, a carrier trace will be initiated before any resolution is provided. if you notice your return tracking has stopped updating, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can contact the carrier on your behalf.
please note: we're unable to assist with refund requests for purchases made outside loveamika.com - we recommend you request support from the retailer you made your purchase through 💖
one return per order, please
to keep things running smoothly, we ask that you submit a single return request per order. if you need to return additional items from the same order after your first submission, a $10 handling fee will be deducted from your second refund total.
what's non-refundable
original order shipping costs and any checkout+ return coverage fees paid at checkout are non-refundable.
return handling fees, where applicable, are deducted from your refund total, and are non-refundable.
checkout+ free return coverage 💛
we know perfecting your hair routine sometimes means a little trial and error — and that's okay! simply add checkout+ to your cart before finalizing for $2.98, and your return fees are completely covered.
start your return as normal through our portal and your coverage will be applied automatically.
didn't opt into checkout+? a $12 return fee will be deducted from your refund total.
please note: orders placed without checkout+ are not eligible for free returns, regardless of whether coverage was purchased on a previous order.
orders containing a gift with purchase (gwp)
if your order qualified for a gift with purchase at the time of checkout, the gwp is considered part of that order.
- returning your order and keeping the gwp? a $15 handling fee will be deducted from your refund total.
- want a full refund? no problem - just include the gwp in your return shipment and the fee won't apply.
photo verification
some returns may require photo verification of items before your return is accepted. if this applies to your return, you'll be prompted to upload these prior to finalizing any return. having photos ready of the items you're returning is always a good idea!
a word on return policy misuse
amika reserves the right to limit or decline any return request due to unauthorized, altered, or ineligible use of our return policy. amika is not responsible for return shipping costs or package receipt for returns initiated outside of our official returns portal. accounts showing patterns of excessive returns, refund cycling, or returns initiated across multiple accounts may be flagged and permanently restricted from future returns and/or purchases. amika also reserves the right to amend or modify this policy at any time. if you have questions about your return eligibility, please get in touch 🫶
